I know, its been a while.  I’ve been busy with my own website, trying to get things in order.  Forgive me me Q-Works faithful.  I do have some good news:

YOU CAN READ ALMOST ALL of the stories I posted on “Worthy of Publishing” right now on my website.  You will need flash, so you can’t read them on your mobile phone yet, but in that event, you can still visit worthy of publishing to check things out.

So here: I give you almost all my stories, with the added bonus of the world premier of the story I hate to show people, “Promenade”.  Its my life’s work so I’m highly protective of it.

Y2K Redux?

I was watching Tremors this morning, and I thought to myself “Y2K has zombies…its not fun enough. What if Y2K had a B-Movie plot about 2 best friends in the military that is fun and cheesy?” And thus, a redux idea spawned. I’m not sure if I want to just redo Y2K, seeing as the two ratings I have for it are BOTH negative. So, maybe, its due for a remake, with shark-snakes? I thought about having scientists mix badger dna, with a shark and a snake, and came up with burrowing reptilian swimmers. Basically, no where but the air is safe. I think it would be more fun.
Speaking of which, Y2K is due for more chapters. Be right Back!

New Brandon Unlimited

Its been a while since the last update, but just saying Brandon Unlimited is still going and even though there is NO ACTION just yet, it is coming! And when it does, it will be something…unpredictable. Well, we are approaching something of a power upgrade for the powerless hero-in-training. No worries, it won’t fundamentally change the story, it just keeps Brandon from being a ho hum watcher of cool things. I want him to be more of a doer-of said cool things. It was my birthday today.

I turned 23.  I’ve been alive for 23 years on this day.  That’s kinda cool.  While my life may not be what I always wanted, I have money, a job, and plans for the future.  I’m fairing alittle better than most people I know.  Its kinda funny how we always take our lives and everything in it, for granted.  We can’t see the green grass for the greener grass on the other side of our neighbor’s fence.  Strange creatures, humans are.

I actually had a great day.  I hung out with my friend, and while that doesn’t sound like much, it was good.  Having a pal to celebrate your birthday with.  I spent most of my life believing I could never really care about people, that it was so much easier to be alone.  But, I actually like having people around.  I like exchanging ideas.  I like positively contributing to relationships that foster great things in life.  I sound sappy, but I believe in the power of friendship, and I believe that its a powerful force.  At 23, I value my friends, where at 17, I couldn’t.  Cheers, huh?

Its a new week, so new Brandon Unlimited

Hey faithfuls! Guess what, More Brandon Unlimited today!  The new series from the mind of Quatez Reid gets even more chapters.  Thats right, 3 more chapters.  I know, you guys want some high flying fighting, and punching, and butt kicking.  I promise, it will come, but even “Ultimate Spiderman” didn’t jump into fighting.  There were 5 issues before the Green Goblin thrashed Midtown High.  The build ups were there to let you know who Peter Parker was and his world.  I’m essentially doing the same.  So when the fists start flying, you actually care about who throws it.

Anyways, heres the next three chapters of the new hit, Brandon Unlimited!

Brand New: Brandon Unlimited

Hey guys.  I’ve been away for a little while, doing Army specific things I can’t disclose, but I have returned to post my new story, as well as talk about it.

Brandon Unlimited is about the son of the worlds greatest Superhero.  Brandon himself grows to resent his father, as his father is actually never around, due to the Earth always needing defending.  So when Brandon’s father actually comes home, he is injured, basically setting Brandon up to be Earth’s next great hero.  The only problem is…Brandon has no powers and shows no signs of getting any of his father’s gifts.

There are alot of strong family and father/son themes in this story.  A lot of identity issues and basically trying to do the right thing when you really don’t have what it takes.  Its primarily a human story.  Its not so much the heroes and villains fighting, so much as it is the people who wear the costumes, and how they view the others who wear the costumes as well.

SO Y2K got two less than lovely reviews.  One them implored me to make it “like a book”.  The other said that a drunk man wouldn’t publish it.  The drunk man comment hurt, even if I did downplay it.  Oh well.  Y2K isn’t their thing.  Might not be for everyone, but I am an artist.  Whether everyone likes it or not, its a subjective field.  People perceive things differently.  I’m not out to win Eisner awards(though it’d be sweet), I’m just out to tell a zombie story.  And I will.
